If you couldn’t guess from my blog name itscourtfit, working out is something that I am super passionate about. It’s my “me time” as a full time stay at home mom, as well as my outlet to destress and recharge.
I share my workouts daily on my Instagram and have gotten a few questions over the past few months about what workout program I use. Since November of 2021, I decided to move my fitness journey from at-home workouts to the gym.
Let me preface by saying I have done a handful of popular workout programs in the past – Beach Body, BBG, etc – & Madeline Moves has been my favorite by far. I’ve never gotten bored with it which is huge. In fact, I get so excited each Sunday when she posts the new workouts of the week!
Also, this workout program is not just fit for women – it would still be challenging for men too! I’ve had my fiancé Casey do a few of the workouts with me and he increases his weights to make it more challenging and definitely gets a great sweat in. Madeline actually recommends the “strength moves” plan for men!
There are options for every fitness level & stage of life. Pregnant? She’s got you covered. Never stepped foot in the gym before? Don’t worry, there are plans for beginners and plans for at-home workouts. She works hand in hand with a physical therapist to create beautifully structured workouts that allow you to train smart.
Let me walk you through some of my favorite features this app has to offer:
I feel like this is a huge difference from a lot of other workout programs – it isn’t just an app, it’s a community of like-minded people who are there to support, motivate, and show up with you. There are Facebook groups, a community tab within the app, & Madeline (the creator) is so active on her personal Instagram & a lot of the time is doing the same workouts the same day as you on her story!
I love that there are so many plans within the app (at no extra cost) to cater to whatever stage you are at! There’s a 6 week “beginner moves” plan for someone new to exercise or wanting to build a foundation for a workout routine. Another plan is “weekly moves” which is the most popular plan she has and also what I use each week. This plan offers 5 new & fresh workouts each week that target the whole body. You can really see how much time and effort is put into this app by how perfectly curated each workout is each week! Lastly, there are a few other plan options like strength moves, mom moves, move sweat shred anywhere, and more! You will not be lacking options with this program!
Videos of each exercise
In case you’re unfamiliar with certain exercises or how to properly perform it, Madeline has a video for every single workout demonstrating how to do it! I have found this helpful as I was pretty new to the gym after having my daughter and taking so much time off. Even still, it’s a good reminder of how to have proper form to avoid injury!
30 minute options & alternate exercise options
Madeline works closely with a physical therapist who helps to provide alternative exercise options for certain moves that may be lower impact and/or use less equipment. The app also accommodates users by providing a 30 minute version of each weekly moves workout if you are short on time! I used the 30 minute version for the first few months I started, and have worked my way up to being able to complete about 45-60 minutes of working out now. Madeline always says, “modify, and go!”
Tighter together challenges
A crowd favorite is the occasional Tighter Together challenge. It is an additional fee, but is worth it with the amount of resources you get IMO, + you get a discount if you’re a moves app member! I signed up for my first tighter together challenge at the beginning of June and got a 4 week workout guide, recipe guide, how to track macros, tips from licensed nutritionists & personal trainers, and so much more. This challenge is only offered once or twice a year and each one is different. Madeline and her team spend so much time creating workouts and gathering recipes from various creators that will help you achieve the results you want.
An easy way to track your workouts & switch around the days to work for you
The app has a monthly calendar that automatically uploads the workouts from the plan you choose! Let’s say you miss lower body day on Monday and want to do it Wednesday instead… it is so easy to move the workouts around to fit your schedule! The red dots shown below turn green once you complete a workout which is super pleasing hahah.
Incredible value for what you pay
I feel like the value you get for only $20 a month is crazy!! You can opt into paying monthly ($20) or one time per year at $200. This price stays the same, even as her app expands and more plans are added. You can really tell how she is trying to make her app easy and accessible for everyone!!
You will FEEL it & notice body composition changes
I have not only toned up since I started consistently doing her workouts 9 months ago, but have put on so much noticeable muscle! This plan will help you see results – my arms look more toned, my butt is growing, my core is stronger, etc – but it is also more than that. The Madeline Moves app makes you feel good in AND out. I leave her workouts feeling so proud of my efforts and the consistency and work I’ve put in. My goals have shifted since becoming a mom and I want to be strong & fit to keep up with my daughter Blakely as she grows, and the Moves app allows me to do that.
