We are back for another week of Friday Favorites!
Last Friday took an unexpected turn which is why I didn’t get last week’s favorites up. Around 2pm I started to have chest pain in the center of my chest. Over the next few hours it got worse and more painful, especially when I moved or took a deep breath. I hadn’t ever had a pain like that before which scared me and of course I went to doctor Google who told me every worse case scenario.
I ended up going to the urgent care up the road from me and they sent me to the ER since they couldn’t treat chest pain. Casey met me at the ER and we went through hours of tests – blood tests and x rays and an EKG. All of my results came back normal, and it wasn’t until they put Toradol in my IV (which is an anti-inflammatory medicine) that they pain went away.
After that, the doctors ended up ruling it as a muscle strain in my chest and I finally got discharged. I hate that I had to go to the ER, but it is better to be safe than sorry – especially with chest pain. When I posted about it on my Instagram story, I had about 8 people say they had a similar experience and went to the ER for chest pain and it ended up being something like mine like a muscle strain or indigestion. That made me feel better to know I wasn’t alone in going!!
The rest of the weekend was very lowkey. I rested all day Saturday and Sunday which was much needed. On Monday I eased back into my workouts and did lighter weights but still moved my body and have felt great!
I had a MOPs (moms of preschoolers) meeting on Tuesday morning which was so fun. We had a great guest speaker who is a radio DJ for The Fish in Atlanta. Blakely did great in the daycare and really loves going. They said they played the song “Baby Shark” and Blakely was dancing and swaying her hips hahaha. Too cute!!
That’s about all the update I have for this week!
This coming Sunday, March 20, is the first day of spring!!! I have incorporated a few fun spring favorites on the blog today so I hope you guys enjoy and get into the spring spirit with me.
I really hope you all love these Friday Favorites as much as I do. I love writing them each week, and even though they are a lot of work, it is such a fun creative outlet for me. This week’s Friday Favorites is full of current favorites, a photo dump from the past 2 weeks, my favorite workout of the week, spring home favorites & my spring vision board.
I’d love y’alls feedback in the comments below on what you love seeing on the Friday Favorites! And with that, let’s get into it.

1) CURRENTLY…
Watching: I caved and started Love is Blind (with Casey lol). It’s an interesting concept for the show, but I really just can’t get behind people getting engaged after only knowing each other for a few days AND without ever seeing each other. But it does make good TV.
Loving: my essential oil diffuser. I used to use this every day in college, and haven’t really used it since I moved to Atlanta. The past few mornings this week I’ve brought it back out and have been diffusing peppermint and lavender in my kitchen and it makes me so happy. The one I have is expensive (I got it for Christmas a few years back), but there are other options that are cheaper and do the same thing.
Reading: y’all I finished Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover and it was AMAZING. It is CRAZY how similar it is to Night Road by Kristin Hannah which I just read too. So if you liked Night Road you’ll love Reminders of Him and vise versa.
Listening: Clayton Tells All. Where are my bachelor fans out there!? This episode was interesting to hear Clayton’s side and take on everything that went down at fantasy suites.
Using: Hydrating eye cream. This is a must have for the early mornings with Blakely. I’ve been using the Rodan and Fields eye cream forever now, but I’ve also used Tula for a more affordable price.
Wanting: Beach Sarongs. I’m thinking about my summer trip coming up in June and wanting to order all the beachy items now. On this week’s Gals on the Go podcast episode, they talk all things swimwear and brands they love. They mentioned Monday Swimwear for sarongs and I couldn’t be more obsessed. For a more affordable option, I found this sarong on Amazon that has amazing reviews too.
Buying: Trader Joe’s flowers. Now that we have gotten a glimpse of warm here in ATL, I’ve been full speed ready for Spring… and if that means filling the house with beautiful flowers then I can’t complain!
Wearing: my Lululemon Athletic Jacket. This time of year is so strange because it’s hot one day and cold the next, or cold one morning and hot in the afternoon, so having a cute athletic jacket is a must for my day to day.
Reading: Verity by Colleen Hoover. I am really on the Colleen Hoover train right now and I’m not mad about it. Her books are so captivating and I have heard amazing things about Verity.

3) WORKOUT OF THE WEEK
This workout absolutely killed my legs BUT it was so good at the same time. If you’re looking for a 30-40 minute glute workout, look no further. I usually do a full body workout on Fridays, but I am trying to grow my glutes so I am starting to train legs/glutes twice a week now. Since the workout plan I follow doesn’t have a glute workout for Fridays, I created this one for myself.
*Warm up*
Circuit 1: 2 sets
- Banded Glute Kickback (12 reps)
- Mini Band Fire Hydrants (12 reps)
- Banded Double Pulse Squat (12 reps)
Single Exercise: 4 sets
- Barbell Back Squat (8 reps, 6 reps, 5 reps, 5 reps)
- I used the Smith Machine for this exercise, but you can use dumbbells if you don’t have a bar.
- Try to go up in weight as the reps decrease.
Superset 1: 2 sets
- Bulgarian Split Squats (8 reps each leg)
- Curtsey Lunch Pulses (10 reps each leg)
Single Exercise: 2 sets
- RDL to Goblet Squat with Kettlebell (10 reps)
4) SPRING HOME FAVORITES
Let’s get our homes ready for spring!
White tulips… classic spring flowers that will brighten any room, and won’t die if you forget to water them.
Patio Bistro Set… best for apartment porches where space is limited and this mint green color is so cute and spring.
Spring Throw Pillows… I was walking through Target the other day and they have the cutest spring throw pillows in store right now.
More Cute Spring Pillows… love the floral.
Pop Of Color Glassware… these would be so cute to have for hosting a get together in the spring.
Lilac Candle… there is a reason this candle has over 33,000 5 star reviews! Who wouldn’t want their home to smell like a fresh bed of flowers!?
Floral Doormat… the perfect way to welcome in spring.
Woven Bunny… it’s not spring without some bunny decor.
Lavender Cleaning Solution… spring cleaning is on the horizon.
Fake Lemons and Limes… these would be so cute to put in a bowl on the countertop to liven up the kitchen and save money so you don’t have to keep buying lemons and limes for decor.
5) SPRING VISION BOARD

Stay Well,
Courtney
