POV: You are newly engaged and it’s time to ask your bridal party. You want your bridesmaids to feel special. You want their proposal boxes to be meaningful and personal. But you also don’t want to break the bank.
A bridesmaid proposal box is a fun and exciting way to ask your best friends to stand beside you at your wedding. Though there are many cute and convenient pre-made boxes on websites like Etsy, I think it is so special and meaningful to create your own custom boxes for your bridal party (and maybe you do too since you’re here!).
If you have a large bridal party like I do, making your own boxes allows you to have more control of what’s in the boxes, how much you spend on everything, any personalized items, and you can really choose an overall theme and look. On today’s post I’ll be sharing all the details on my proposal boxes, as well as some budget tips if you are also a bride on a budget!

I am having 8 girls in my bridal party, so creating 8 boxes filled with items definitely added up quick. As much as I wished I could give my bridesmaids everything and more for their proposal, it just wasn’t in the budget.
I stuck to the basics, picked out a cute overall theme, and most importantly, wrote a hand written note to each girl that I know meant so much.
They all loved their boxes and I received compliments and thank yous from them for including practical items they actually will want to use (and drink ;)!

If you’re on a budget too, my biggest advice when it comes to bridesmaid proposal boxes is to not compare what you can afford with what someone else can. Everyone is at a different stage of life and you never know the whole situation. I’m sure your bridesmaids would want you to only spend what you are comfortable with anyways.
And also, a handwritten note about your friendship and how much they mean to you goes a LONG way! Even if that’s all you can afford, it would be so meaningful.
On that note, please take this blog post for inspiration & ideas only! At the end of the day, you know your bridesmaids best.

How I Made My Boxes:
All my girls know how important self-care is to me, so that is what I used for the overall theme of their proposal boxes. I also only included items that used the colors I’m using for the wedding which is a lot of white, greenery, champagne & pops of blush.
I ordered a bulk pack of the white boxes off of Amazon, as well as a bulk pack of the labels for the champagne bottles. I then took a trip to Target, World Market, and Hobby Lobby to find the items I wanted to put in the boxes. I knew going into the shopping day that I wanted to find self-care items, but I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for.
Tip for the budget bride– if you have to buy a lot of one item for a large bridal party, look in the travel sized item area of Target! There were so many cute, practical and affordable items and you can really find options in your color scheme too!

Items In The Box:
I ended up finding four mini gifts that I included in the box, plus a handwritten note.
I tried to link everything I could find online, but since I bought most of my items in person, I couldn’t find some of them online. I did find and link similar options though!

Bridesmaid Proposal Box Idea For A Younger Bridesmaid
My younger sister is 14, but I wanted her to be a bridesmaid & feel included in the bridesmaid proposal! I obviously didn’t want to include champagne in hers, so I added her favorite drink instead – Dr. Pepper! I put the bridesmaid proposal label on the bottle and she loved it!
I then included lots of her favorite candy, a claw clip and the mini deodorant. It was personal to her because earlier that weekend she had told me she wanted a claw clip since she didn’t have one! That might have been her favorite item in the box!!
When it comes to younger bridesmaids, making it personal to them and your relationship is super special. Including a special treat or drink, a handwritten note, and other fun goodies would be perfect.
